Highway to Heaven - Mentryville and Pico Canyon

The old town of Mentryville was selected for some of the town shots in this episode. Specifically, the Down residence, the roadside stop where Jonathan and Mark are reading Charlie's letter and some other buildings. The house used for the Down residence is really the home of the late Charles Alexander Gentry, for whom the pioneer oil town was named after.

Pico Canyon is seen in the roadway shots of Charlie driving his car, then the scenes of the motorcycle gang and their model airplane, who kill Charlie, and the site where Jonathan and Mark find his car at. Both film sites are located in Santa Clarita Valley, north of Los Angeles.
