Welcome to "Highway to Heaven"!
This website is dedicated to the hit series Michael Landon created and
aired from 1984 to 1989 on NBC television. This is the first and only
comprehensive website on the series and unlike my "Bonanza" website,
this one you'll discover contains great knowledge, but is not as large
as the 1,000-square-mile ranch Little Joe resided at during the 1860's.
Enjoy the web site's comprehensive episode guide that spans all 5
seasons, with complete guest stars, co-stars and featured actors in the
109 episodes made and aired first-run on NBC. You'll find out even more
in the way of location film sites I have listed that was an integral
part of the series' look in the 1980's era.
Michael carried his location filming down the road from his genesis on
"Bonanza" to his second hit "Little House on the Prairie" then to his
third hit "Highway to Heaven".
West Los Angeles and Malibu along with Canyon Country served as the
local exterior backdrops for the series. The distant filming would take place again at the gorgeous Central
Sierra in California and in the desert settings at Tuscon, Arizona.
Complete crew listings are available of the "Highway" crew Michael
worked with on the web site. The majority of the crew worked with him
before on "Bonanza" and "Little House," and they were a solid gold crew
and he was a great boss and friend to them all. MGM Studios in Culver
City served as the rental space for interior and backlot filming for
"Highway," along with assembly of the film and sound elements.
The history of the series is examined along with the gallery and a
discussion forum for fans and admirers of the series and of course,
Michael Landon as the probationary angel Jonathan Smith and Victor
French as his partner Mark Gordon as they hit the "Highway to Heaven".
